3M™ Headlight Lens Restoration
Did you know that Arizona law requires you to see 500 feet in front of you while driving at night?

Unfortunately, too many of us drive around with hazy headlights that barely allow us to see even 200 feet—not nearly enough distance to see objects or people in time to avoid hitting them—especially at higher speeds.

What causes headlights to dull over time? Intense sun/UV exposure, heavy pollution, road debris, dust storms, and even car wash chemicals.

Protective Film Solutions can improve headlight clarity using the 3M™ Headlight Lens Restoration System to remove the hazing, yellowing and pitting.

Why restore your headlights?
  • Safety. See further and more clearly at nighttime (including people, objects, vehicles), so you're better able to avoid hitting them.
  • Navigation. View distant street signs, construction signs and mile markers to better gauge your route.
  • Cost savings. Save money over replacing costly headlights (can range $200-$1,500 each).
  • Appearance. Perk up the look of your vehicle (and even improve resell value).

We recommend having headlight protection film installed after the restoration process in order to protect the finish and prevent further pitting.

How long does headlight restoration take?
It takes about 10-15 minutes each, sometimes up to 45 minutes each for larger headlights or those with excessive yellowing or hazing.

How is it done?
PFS uses professional tools as well as 3M™ products specifically created to remove the ground-in dirt and discoloration from your polycarbonate or acrylic lenses (not glass), and then smooth their surface.

Will my lenses still yellow afterward?
Because the process removes the original UV coating from your lenses, they will yellow at a faster rate than before. Just how fast is uncertain because there are factors beyond our control that influence this, including driving frequency; amount of exposure to sunlight, debris/dust, pollution; car wash chemicals.
